Drill It
I remember my grandfather's drill and the drill my father had when I was a kid. I was fascinated and a little scared of them, now as an adult I work with them all the time and I have a shed full of tools that I delight in using. At the end of 2016 my shed was broken into and several of my best tools went. Amongst these tools was the cheap little Black n Decker that I brought when Brunswickarts was young. That drill hung hundreds of shows and helped build much of the space. What a lot of history to have vanish out the door in the shape of an almost useless old drill. This event inspired this series of drawings of objects that look like they would be more at home on the set of some SiFi drama then in my grandfathers shed. I would like to thank all the people who lent their generous support in the shape of new tools or financial support to get replacements. |
